IMHO, this is an excellent idea. More states should implement something like this. Add a work requirement, too.

“It’s a restriction that’s designed just to make the lives of those that are already struggling that much harder,” Rep. Lisa Subeck, D-Madison, told The Capital Times. “And instead, we should be focusing not on the foods people buy but on putting people to work by creating jobs that get people off of FoodShare.”

I am sick and tired of hearing this leftist clap trap. You could almost predict what the left was gonna be saying without reading the article.

There should be food pantries where you get your rations for the week. The essentials.
That’s more than the Irish, Italians, Jews, Polish etc received when they came.
And a LOT more than the original settlers!!!!!

It could be that in exchange for the benefit, recipients would do X hours of “community service” work while simultaneously developing skills that could lead to gainful employment. There are always public works needed to be done in every hamlet in the US.

Yup. Such a measure in the red states would drive the parasites to the libtard states. Excellent!!

It gets worse than that....

So, dippy broad democRAT...what policies has YOUR party enacted to create the very jobs you lament as being unavailable?

I'm still waiting to hear from you babe...

Hopefully the ones who miss buying hot pockets and pizza rolls will get a job so they can buy them.

Michigan did require food stamp receivers to work, under Engler and lots of folks decided that they didn’t need them any more. Then along comes dear “Aunt Jenny Grandmole” and removed the work requirement and almost anyone can get them now.
