Student activist Emma Sulkowicz made headlines last fall, pledging to carry her mattress around Columbia Universitys campus until the administration expelled her alleged rapist, Paul Nungesser. That didnt happen.
Tuesday, both students were scheduled to graduate. So Sulkowicz, with the help of her friends, carried her mattress in the processional, continuing her protest. According to The Columbia Daily Spectator, the schools administration emailed seniors on Monday saying, Graduates should not bring into the ceremonial area large objects which could interfere with the proceedings or create discomfort to others in close, crowded spaces shared by thousands of people. Sulkowicz disregarded this warning and brought her mattress on stage. According to a tweet from Teo Armus, the Deputy News Editor at the Columbia Spectator, Emma Sulkowicz did not shake hands with President Lee Bollinger when she went on stage.

The man whom she accused of rape should use this to his advantage in his Title 9 lawsuit against Columbia. As you may read, Columbia said no large objects were allowed on stage, yet they allowed her to bring the mattress, which further perpetuates the claim that a man cleared of rape is a rapist.

Why did she refuse to follow through with court proceedings against him? That’s nuts.

Liberals never admit mistakes, they just double down and sling more poop.
They will put that stupid mattress in a museum and worship it.

Did this disruption accomplish its intended purpose? Why did the university allow it?

Hard to believe she even graduated and that this mattress crap was her final art project. She's been seen soaking up the attention and laughing about it all over campus but was supposedly raped. The guy was investigated by campus and NYC police and they found no evidence to expel or arrest him. They broke up and she was mad. Even after this supposedly happened she was texting him I love you, take me back, etc for months. He has all of those texts and is suing the school for allowing her to carry this mattress all semester and use his name (she originally said she wouldn't name names). He said he lost friends and everybody looked at him like a rapist including the professors. Columbia is no place my kid will go, but I guess Barry Soetoro liked it... Although no one remembers him even being there!

didn’t a certain now-extremely-high-profile illegal alien also receive a degree from this dumpo “college” ... ?

Nobody is ever found innocent under our legal systm.
The DA’s office chose not to pursue this case due to lack of evidence.
To be perfectly (un)fair to both parties, this case will forever remain in a limbo where nobody but the two parties (and not necessarily them) will ever know what really happened.
The accused in this case also had charges filed against him by two other women, which is interesting, though he’s not yet up to Cosby level.
She’s pissed that he wasn’t “held responsible,” which I guess means the school should impose sanctions on him without proof beyond a reasonable doubt. Nobody should doubt the female’s word because women don’t lie about being raped.
