New York (AFP) - Rap mogul Jay Z has quietly used his wealth to post bail for people arrested in protests across the United States against police, an author close to him said Sunday.

Dream Hampton, a writer and activist who worked with Jay Z on his 2010 memoir "Decoded," made the revelations in a series of messages on Twitter that were deleted but were posted by the hip-hop magazine Complex.

"When we needed money for bail for Baltimore protesters, I... hit Jay up, as I had for Ferguson (and he) wired tens of thousands" of dollars within minutes, read one tweet.

She also tweeted that Jay Z and his pop superstar wife Beyonce wrote a "huge check" to support the burgeoning "Black Lives Matter" movement aimed at stopping police brutality.

The homosexual guy who's been organizing the #BlackLivesMatter marches, Deray McKesson, bragged last week about how Beyonce just started started following him on Twitter.

It was a feather in his cap. She has millions of followers but she herself only follows 8 other people. So her doing that added a a lot of cred to him in those circles.

He mysteriously was able to leave his job and fly around the country organizing riots. Everyone says Soros is paying him but I imagine a lot of people are lining his paypal account.

This is him and his Jabba the Hut friend Johnetta Elzie (Netta) who somehow snagged a post with Amnesty International soon after leading riots in Ferguson.

There is a picture of Deray in whiteface and drag going around the web but Google does a pretty good job of keeping it deleted. They only put his best face forward I guess.
