Hannity thinks he is a great Constitutional Conservative but he has some curious ideas about what that entails. His interpretation of the 2nd amendment, for instance, includes all sorts of infringements he thinks comport with “shall not be infringed.”

I listened to him once go on for twenty minutes about how opposing abortion in all cases is “intellectually consistent,” but he just couldn’t imagine “forcing” a young girl to bear a child conceived in rape. He kept calling abortion “murder,” and then supporting a “rape exception.”

He’s the same way with contraception. He says he accepts the Church’s teaching, but supports federal funding of contraception because it’s a “benefit.”

One of his intellectual problems is that he doesn’t see that the Church calls some things a “sin” because they are BAD FOR PEOPLE. He thinks that, if you’re not a Catholic, contraception is a good thing. That’s actually the same argument Nancy Pelosi (and Geraldine Ferraro, and Mario Cuomo, etc., etc.) have made for years: I accept that abortion is a sin, but it’s unfair that rich women have this “benefit” if poor women don’t.

I knew Fr. Jonathan Morris (Legionary) was a snake when he supported Sean in his position on government funding of contraception.
