RIP. That’s a lot of talent gone. I remember when he was on an episode of “Sanford & Son”.
On the bright side, Khent is available for personal grief therapy sessions. Disco music...incense...oils...all right there your you.
B.B. King was not only one of the best musicians of the 20th century, he was also one of the most influential.
Godspeed, B.B. the green fields of Elysium await!
RIP BB.
That picture is a way back blast from the past. 1070 black radio in Memphis had a large white teen following back in the early 50’s, before rock and roll took hold on WHBQ and WMPS.
My posting of this video, the offical video a great tribute from Eric Clapton.
RIP, BB. one heckuva blues man, and guitarist.
We’re having our Memphis in May bbq contest this weekend. Maybe there will be a memorial to him at the event.
RIP BBK.
143 Beale Street, Memphis.
We missed him by one night a couple years ago.
He was friendly with Elvis.
According to his bio, BB was also a private pilot, but gave it up in his 70's.
RIP
BB
SRV too.
RIP Blues Boy
I heard a news report this morning that last year he played approx 100 shows, even at his advanced age. What a tireless performer!
I think tomorrow night for our gig, I'll wear my B.B. King's (Memphis, TN) t-shirt in his honor.
“Riding with the King” — one of my all time favorites. B B King is one of the special ones that will live long past his death.
I saw him last year with my daughter, one of his last concerts. Gunna miss the old chap, I’m sure he is playing Lucille for god right now.
One of the all time greats. Glad I was able to get to see him several times in the past few years.
RIP.
“There Must Be A Better World Somewhere” - BB King
Sometimes I wonder
Just what am I fighting for?
I win some battles
But I always lose the war
I keep right on stumblin’
In this no-man’s land out here
But I know
Mmmmm yes, I know
There must be a better world somewhere
Flying high
Some joker clips my wings
Just because he gets a kick
Out of doing those kind of things
I keep on fallin’ in space
Or just hangin’ in mid-air
But I know
Ohh yes, I know
There has just got to be a better world somewhere
Every woman I want
Only wants herself
Everybody I love
Seems to love somebody else
And every woman
Got a license to break my heart
And every love, oh it’s over
Over before it gets a chance to start
If it ain’t dead
Maybe in the here after
Instead of tears
I’ll learn all about laughter
But meanwhile I’m stuck out here
It just ain’t fair, but I know
I said I know
Oh yes, I know
There must be a better world somewhere
There’s just gotta be
Gotta be a better world somewhere
Dibs on Lucille!
Now Father Time is catching up with me
Gone is my youth
I look in the mirror everyday
And let it tell me the truth
I’m singing the blues
Mm, I just have to sing the blues
I’ve been around a long time
Yes, yes, I’ve really paid some dues . . .
“Why I Sing the Blues”
I think The Smithsonian has dibs.
