I don’t know about the headline, but the meat of the story discloses it is discussing two separate trains, and does not connect the projectile receiving train (a commuter train to Trenton, NJ) with the train that derailed in Philadelphia.

It WAS 2 different trains. This was a commuter train about 3 miles away from the amtrak train, according to the article.

It is just an interesting collection of facts at this point. You must admit it is strange that two trains in the same area and 20 minutes apart had some sort of unusual happening, especially since the 2nd one was so tragic.

its a case of two seperate trains..the one that we know was hit by the “unidentifed” projectile...and the other the one that crashed..

given that they dont know what sort...of projectile hit the one train...I doubt that we will ever know what relationship to the other train wreck there may be.

You're right. It's a poorly written headline. The article is a bit clearer. The train hit by the projectile was NOT the train that derailed.

Nevertheless, it's an odd coincidence that two trains would have trouble like this on the same day. And it's worth noting that both trains were operating in the same area. So...
