Progressives called ignorant, insincere, and motivated by politics, sparking fury among President's base
President Obama’s performance in pushing for approval of fast track legislation of the Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal, in which he’s allied with Republicans and has spent the last week castigating and insulting liberal Democrats, has been one of the most bizarre and ill-advised performances of his presidency.
I spent many years working for senior Democratic Senators such as Lloyd Bentsen and House Democratic leaders beginning with the legendary Speaker Tip O’Neill, and have never seen any president of either party insult so many members of his own party’s base and members of the House and Senate as Mr. Obama has in his weeks of tirades against liberals on trade.

Obama feels free to kick anybody around these days, even the liberals who voted for him. Maybe they’re supposed to feel ‘privledged’ to take a swift kick in the collective ass if it makes their clay idol Obama feel better.

Reason enough to vote against it - the fact that Obama has to keep this thing “secret” tells me there is something in there that he knows the American people will object to or is destructive to America. The only time the ‘Rat B. hasn’t lied is when he said he was going to fundamentally transform America. His temper tantrum at the Libs is so “JV”. I hope he absolutely pisses them off and severely damages Hitlary. The Repubs absolutely should not bail him out on this .... but they probably will ... they never miss an opportunity to shoot themselves in the foot and/or insult Conservatives who voted for them to oppose King Putt.
This mirrors when Bush turned to lame anti-conservative talking points about this point in his presidency RE: immigration. That was when my personal public opinion shifted on his presidency, when he started talking nonsense about jobs Americans won’t do and other crap.

Hurling insults at someone you’re trying to swing to your side is an excellent negotiating tactic. Everybody knows that insulting somebody makes them feel badly that they are not on your side. I like the classic insults. Here’s a goodly sample, varlet.
