Well, I did have ONE good experience with cops. We had a noise complaint at my rich friend’s house in the suburbs. The cops came and literally apologized a dozen times before asking “maybe you can turn the noise down just a touch”. They even said “it gets boring patrolling here at night and we just wanted to say hello”. Real officer friendly types. People were openly smoking pot too and they just laughed about it.

Maybe all your experiences were like the above.

NOW , if I had this identical party in MY neighborhood with some black people, the booted thugs would have arrived shortly. My entire home and every person would have been ransacked, handcuffed and searched. And if they didn’t find anything, they’d likely plant something on “smart” people.

There truly are TWO Americas when it comes to the law and I’ve been able to experience both sides.

One of the problems that folks fail to think about, is what happens at parties in most middle class neighborhoods and what happens at parties in Black neighborhoods.

One party is mostly mellow, loud music, and other noise issues. There’s under-age drinking. There are going to be some drugs too. Some fights may break out, but they are generally the type where there aren’t severe injuries or lingering after party issues. Officers show up. The kids expect it, they either leave or become more quiet. The situation is resolved.

One party is not quite so mellow. Some of the same dynamics are in play. If there are fights, they are much more likely to turn into something where someone gets seriously injured. Guns are much more likely to be present. The officers show up and some idiot at the party becomes belligerent because the officers dared show up. If the officers are White, it’s claimed it is a racist act for them to show up. Compliance may be achieved, but there is going to be some level of anger over it.

After the party, in the middle-class neighborhood, the kids go somewhere and grab a bite to eat or relocate to other homes and wind down.

That may not be the case in the Black area. Guys may pile into a car and do some drive-bys. Any fights at the party may be resolved afterwards violently.

While folks address that idea that both parties are treated differently, they don’t address why.

Are White middle class neighborhoods being shot up at night?

Are Black communities being shot up at night?

Which area is more likely to have gang violence associated with these parties?
