This the job of the state Legislatures or City Councils in the nation. It is the problem of judges.
If you’re going to do away with the police, you also do away with courts, at least as we have known them.

That’s funny hahahaha. In NYC they definitely “pick and choose”. Each applicant goes to interview with the NYPD and it is their SOLE decision who to deny rights to for ANY secret reason they wish without appeal. It must be good to be King...

I’ve lived in areas where there are no real police or judges and people lived just fine. Neighbors simply watched out for one another and protected property as needed. When people stop foolishly relying on police, they learn to take care of themselves.
Please, they selectively “enforce laws” as soldiers for organized crime. They are little more than a gang paid to enforce a revenue collection quotas and take “bonuses” for themselves when a cash opportunity presents itself.
Police WILL NOT protect you in any truly dangerous situation. Look at the pathetic responses to school shootings and riots.
