Quite often deals are made during a round of golf, or at a different function where there is socializing.

You’re talking about big rollers, and these folks do a lot of business. Business meetings get boring, and there needs to be some levity too.

Socializing isn’t a bad way to accomplish things. I’m all for attending meetings too, if that works, but I don’t think business people should be locked into meetings from sunrise to beyond sunset just because they are business people.

People are more likely to form working relationships with others they enjoy being around. That’s no really a bad thing.

I believe you’re trying to convey the idea that all those snacks shouldn’t be necessary. In concept I agree, but when reality takes over, I do think socializing is a added benefit.
