According to New Jersey Watchdog, Christie reportedly spent over $82,000 of taxpayer money on concessions at MetLife Stadium.

Christie paid for food and drinks at MetLife with a debit card 58 times over the 2010 and 2011 NFL seasons, accruing a bill of $82,594. That means he spent an average of nearly $1,500 on food and drinks every time he attended a football game.

To the informed this is what is known as “entertainment” and is part of his job. This is only significant to the ignorant.

This is the NYT attacking a Republican candidate.

I would not support them in it. The money was spent as a Governor does spend money on state receptions and events. Typical liberal attacks. Even if I would not vote for Christie I will not support the NYT bs.

What’s the big deal? It’s not like government money is real or anything.

A few years ago, Kwame Kilpatrick, former Detroit Mayor and current Federal prisoner was accused of spending $250K on his city issued credit card. The previous mayor was asked how much he put on the card and he said $0.00. He chose to use a personal card and get reimbursed. He did not say he never entertained as mayor.

Like it or not, that’s part of the job. My company has season passes for local NFL and MLB teams for entertaining clients. I’m not at the level to be invited but I’m sure the cost is similar.

It’s a standard cost of doing business and as others have said, $1500 a game is not much.

Plus, often with suite rentals, you are required to spend a certain amount per game on catering.

"Only $82K!?!?!? I’m not buying it."

You must not live in NJ. There your tax dollars would be paying for all of it.

Thank you BeaversMom.

I don’t care for Christie at all, but some of these articles against Republicans are pure nonsense.

Why do I care when it’s Christie? I care because next it will be on someone like Cruz. I don’t like these attempts at character assassination, at least baseless ones like this.

If it’s not baseless, then the target is fair game IMO.
