....Mercury‘s debut was the perfect solo album, in that it became a outlet for his inclination toward non-rock music away from Queen and never threatened his group’s integrity. In fact, it may have gotten Queen back on track.

Released on April 29, 1985, Mr. Bad Guy....

Mr. Bad Guy became a labor of love, as Mercury took almost two years to pick and choose which portions of his Queen legacy intrigued him most.

The recent documentary on Mercury, though, indicates that Mercury was a bit jealous of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" success and wanted to break away.

Mercury and Jackson even recorded some music together, though none of it made it to the solo album.

Fortunately for Queen, "Mr. Bad Guy" was NOT a big success. One thinks it true that rumors of Mercury's cocaine habit is what caused Michael Jackson to cut short their work together.

Queen went on to eventually record some of their strongest, if not commercially successful stuff: "The Miracle" and "Innuendo".

Thirteen years ago Freddy Mercury died of AIDS resulting from repeated anal sex with infected homosexual men.

And good riddance.

Yes, sadly he died of AIDS. One hopes he awakened to the truth of the Gospel before he passed away.

He lived a life of hedonistic behavior, no doubt.

He knew the story of Christ, as evidenced by the song “Jesus” on their first album.

Freddie Mercury was an amazingly talented singer. Any life lost to sin is a terrible tragedy.

This is one of the reasons faux conservatives are destroying conservatism, by promoting this type of activity.

By promoting it you give approval to this for your children to also support it or even to check it out. Just like Rush having Elton John play at his wedding reception, he made a huge statement about his position.

“Innuendo” is Italian for anal sex.

Thank you for your post. My kids just love his music. They need to remember that he had a shot at redemption from his sins, and they can retain some hope that he took it.

Freddie Mercury was an amazingly talented singer.

Freddy Mercury was a disgusting wreck of a human being.

Any life lost to sin is a terrible tragedy.

His the choice, his the consequence.

No.

I teach my child that bad men can make good art.

All beauty is God’s beauty, all truth is God’s truth.

Meanwhile, I hold to a strong position of man’s total depravity, and we are saved only by the merit of a Godly Saviour.

I am not a faux conservative.

Their first album was quite good.

My favorite song from it is ‘Liar’.

No one is “promoting” it, and neither did Freddie which is why many conservatives can still be conservative and profess a liking for Queen’s music. Was Freddie Mercury a homosexual? Of course he was, but it was light-years different from today’s era of in-your-face lesbo/queer dramatics.

I abhor homosexuality as much as most here but if people want to do it behind closed doors and very much in the closet I say “whatever”. Freddie did that, didn’t go marching down the streets demanding to be gay-married or any of this modern day stuff. His Judgement for his actions are between Freddie and God, not us.
