South L.A. ban on new fast-food restaurants has little effect
L A Times ^ | Angel Jennings and Doug Smith

Now, as evidence mounts that the Los Angeles City Council's ban on new fast-food restaurants is so far failing, leaders and thinkers are again scrutinizing the role restaurants of all kinds play or could play in this historically troubled cluster of largely low-income neighborhoods.

Seven years ago, the city pushed through the nation's first ordinance to focus on public health and fast food, at least in part because a community health nonprofit had lobbied tenaciously for the regulation as a way to fight obesity — a problem that is typically worse in poorer neighborhoods.

But despite passionate arguments that the law would encourage healthier, sit down-style restaurants to come to the area, a Los Angeles Times analysis shows the food landscape here remains unchanged.

...

From 2009 through 2014, the roughly 32-square mile area covered by the ban gained 86 restaurants, a Times analysis of Los Angeles County Department of Health records shows.

More than half of those new locations, however, were on or near USC.

And then they’ll blame “racist conservatives” for the resulting “food desert.”

Oh wait, they already do...

Liberals vs. reality. It would be amusing to watch, if it didn’t affect the rest of us.

The absolute last thing our despots want
is for poor minority youth to gather great
work habits starting in the fast food
industry.

Where then would they get the dependency vote?

When everything you touch is a gift of the working people of the USA, it only makes sense that your food should be fast and always available because cooking your own is actual work.

If Church’s, Popeye’s, McDonalds, and Burger King, were forbidden to accept EBT cards the obesity problem wouldn’t resolve itself as the ever resourceful work avoidance class would use their cash, generated from sales of EBT cards to buy their breakfast, lunch and dinners at these same fast food places.

The answer (the elephant in the room) is to make the indigent WORK for their subsistence. How utterly cruel a thought. ME BAD !

Heres how i started. Kool aid stand, shaved ice stand, added candy, then paper route, movie house in the basement with popcorn, popsicle making, Geno’s hamburgers, Richmans ice cream in summers up at 3:30 a.m. home by 5:00. college etc.

Now wait a minute! I’ve always been told that poor people are starving! At our local food pantry for the poor many of the people asking for food are fat as hogs!

Sounds good, that’s normal at university. Me it was frozen burrito morning, 1 dollar pizzas lunch, 1 dollar mCD’s value meal for sundaes, Coscto pizza again night time then off to work as strip club DJ until 2 pm, then stop by 7-11 for after dinner.

It’s like this “ban” on plastic bags in L.A. but Autozone, Ross, 7-11 still gives you plastic bags. We have a culture of lawbreaking illegals what’s another idiotic law by that fat ass first Wookie?

No need for people to think for themselves when their liberal masters know what is best for them.

Just wait until Michelle “orders” all LA restaurants to throw out their menus and serve only the same Soyant Green she’s “ordered” our local public schools to try to slop to the unfortunate little rugrats/piglets in attendance there.

Too much time is spent being “concerned” about minorities and the way they live. Leave them alone in their neighborhoods. From time to time they will burn down all the fast food places and then the taxpayer can build them new ones of a different kind; i.e. burn down the Taco Bell and build a KFC in its place. Burn and build, burn and build, burn and build the eternal cycle.

So they think sit-down restaurants are going to end obesity?

Seriously?

LOL. They serve you between two and three times what you need for a meal. Folks sit there and eat it, and the Libs think that is healthier than fast food.

Dumber than a box of rocks.

Liberals must know that these fast-food joints facilitate their agenda. Keeping the professional voting class fat and happy. Just as long as they don’t eat too much such that they can’t physically make it to the polls.

“At our local food pantry for the poor many of the people asking for food are fat as hogs!”

At the road between McDonalds and Wal-Mart there sometimes stands a woman with a tiny cardboard sign reading, “Hungry. Please help.” She is the fattest woman I have ever personally seen. It’s amazing she can walk to the little island between the traffic lanes. She would be better off is she worded the sign, homeless, or indigent. But hungry beggars the mind.

It’s odd that the Occupancy in our CasaBlanca wants to force Americans to eat “healthy” soylent Green for their health’s sake, supposedly -— but also promotes mass-scale baby killing and homosexuality and additional perverse or dangerous types of sexual behavior, plus Obamacare is reducing the quality of almost everyone’s medical care. Something doesn’t add up here, gang. Either they’re for the sheeples’s health or — it looks more like — they want to kill as many Americans off as they can ( with the brocholi lunches just a cover story — everyone knows most kids won’t eat that “healthy” crap anyway)
