A Canadian father has apparently confessed to shooting dead his teenage daughter, wife, and sister at two separate homes in a chilling Facebook post, writing: 'Now my family is pain-free and in heaven.'
In the online post, Randy Janzen seemingly writes that his torment over his 19-year-old daughter Emily's debilitating migraines led him to shoot her in the head at a house in British Columbia.
He adds that he then gunned down his wife, Laurel, 'because a mother should never have [to] hear the news her baby has died', and his sister, Shelly, so that she did not 'have to live with this shame'.
Shortly after the post was uploaded to the social network on Thursday, investigators confirmed a multiple homicide involving relatives had taken place at two different residences in the province.
I kind of dead in here at the moment too...
*shivers*
It can eat you up and drive you insane.
Yeah, I’d said that in our thread before reading this.
Yikes.
I have known of Godly men who have been driven to similar acts by despair.
I cannot imagine a more painful mental torment than watching your child live in constant pain and knowing that you can do nothing to relieve that pain.
I know that this man has done a horrible thing but I have great sympathy for him none the less.
I will pray for his soul
That murderous man is a selfish lunatic.
Janzen was a singer in in various heavy metal bands over the years.
I did not mean that I did not care about the situation, it was horrendous, just meant there is enough in Christ to see us through whatever life delivers, and I say that from one who knows great sorry and pain.
Canada is a VERY VIOLENT country.
I suspect that the man needed a spiritual mentor to help him through the trials of his life. I believe you are right he needed someone to help him pray.
We men are too often too proud to seek out help from God or man when we enter the pit of despair.
I know I have been there.
Praying won’t fix crazy
Perhaps not.
But it might prevent it.
“Randy Janzen seemingly writes that his torment over...”
I take it to mean he was more concerned about his torment than hers.
Sad. Migraines in teens are usually outgrown. And then he was too afraid to tell his wife or sister what he had done, so he killed them too.
Well - at least he survived. /s
Probably know my story, brain injury, eight years ago. Life is very hard with brutal chronic pain, insomnia, forgetfulness, numbness, burning, vision and hearing damaged, terrible pulsatile tinnitus...and you sometimes think death ain’t such a bad thing, but you keep going. My fiancé suffers my ailment and takes such good care of me. I hope she doesn’t have a gun I don’t now about :(
Aint gonna be no cure in my lifetime, and she may well and up putting me in nursing home.
I feel so helpless.
I condemn but understand this crazy story.
You are truly blessed to have such a woman.
yeah, and I don’t hold back the truth. Too much of my anger at how life turned out is directed towards her. It’s cowardly, and not becoming of a man. I don’t know how to change it.
I know what my future holds and I don’t think it is going to be very dignifying and I don’t want to face it.
But this board is not the time and place...how about that Tom Brady suspension :)
A co-worker wife suffered devastating brain damage due to an insulin overdose. It took three years with constant therapy but she recovered a great deal of her function back.
She went from not being able to walk, talk, write, or use her hand to being able to drive, cook, clean and do just about everything most people can do. She will never be the same as she was but her recovery is amazing even to her doctors. They told my coworker when the accident happened that she would likely never live at home again.
It took a lot of therapy and my coworker working with her daily but the results are a miracle.
He’s a serial killer. Hang him.
