Temporary upgrades for White House security are set to be approved Thursday following several high-profile breaches, with permanent changes to the White House fence expected in fall 2016.
Work begins Friday to beef up security at vehicle checkpoints at the White House Ellipse, and spikes will be bolted to the White House fence in July to deter fence jumpers.
A U.S. Secret Service report said Thursday that the White House security fence has been breached "many times" and the fence needs to be modernized.
The public will be asked to comment next month on potentially dramatic changes to the White House grounds and security.
The National Park Service says it will add signage to the National Mall to help visitors navigate around White House after security changes are made.
The guy in charge of the Bastille is thinking, “Why didn’t I think of that??”
A fence is going to make a difference? Keep hookers away from the SS?
The foreigner is the problem. Put an American in their and they won’t fear the people or turn Our House into a fortress.
Since they asked for public comment.....how about the current residents GTFO !
Do they have a spike permit?
Obviously, the President is doing something to provoke the public. Instead of all these security measures, the President should just stop his incendiary behavior.
Well permanent until maybe the management changes and something meaningful is done about some religious fanatics.
I have a comment: since you are anti-gun, have the Secret Service disarmed, don’t lock your doors, tear down your fence.
My tag line.
I thought Democrats didn’t believe that fences keep people out. Why do they work in DC (District of Criminals) and not along the Mexican border?
why not add razor wire too.
They’ve told us fences don’t work at keeping people out.
Effing hypocrites.
First its the fence, then it will be bars on the windows. *sigh* It used to be such a nice neighborhood too.
Would be better if he’d put all that on our borders!
Spikes? Why is the White House so hateful toward undocumented visitors?
