Extreme secrecy eroding support for Obama's trade pact

If you want to hear the details of the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal the Obama administration is hoping to pass, you’ve got to be a member of Congress, and you’ve got to go to classified briefings and leave your staff and cellphone at the door.

If you’re a member who wants to read the text, you’ve got to go to a room in the basement of the Capitol Visitor Center and be handed it one section at a time, watched over as you read, and forced to hand over any notes you make before leaving.

[snip] Obama’s seeking a renewal of fast-track authority, which would empower him to negotiate trade deals that then go to Congress for up-or-down votes but not amendments. He says he needs that authority to complete the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a 12-country free trade agreement that he calls essential to stopping China from setting trade, labor and environmental standards in the Asia-Pacific region.

Look. This kind of _legislation_ is treason. Passing bills that haven't been read, is treason. Legislation is lawfully an open and visible activity; except in time of war.

Are we at war? In the traditional sense, no. Sending troops on endless _peacekeeping_ missions, where they're not allowed to wage war, is not war. It is a form of corruption.

Are we at war? In a nontraditional sense, yes. The ship of state (USA), has been severely damaged and is nearing capsize. Being misgoverned by USG and the financial interests who control by the privilege to float the world on *money*from*thin*air* and lies.

The Most Transparent Administration in History continues to lower the bar on secrecy.

And Obama is a pathological liar.

Write and call your congressmen and women and tell them no vote until we’ve all had a chance to read the bill.

This bears repeating:

"Write and call your congressmen and women and tell them no vote until we’ve all had a chance to read the bill.
