Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has promised to nationalize food distribution in the South American nation beset with record shortages of basic goods, runaway inflation and an escalating economic crisis.
During a rally Friday, on International Workers' Day, the socialist leader allowed a union activist to ask for the nationalization of food and essential-item distribution.

The wonders of Socialism! How soon before the boat loads of Venezuelan refugees start showing up on American's shores?

Send Mooch. She can leverage her success with American school lunches to destroy Venezuela as well. And make it a one-way ticket.

Sean Penn & Charlize Theron can be counted on personally, for taking a few hundred refugees into their massive, stockpiled homes.

“nationalize food distribution” = Starve the underclasses and the undesirables, while the elite eat like pigs.

Various estimates suggest the government already controls about half of the country's food distribution, but that hasn't stopped record shortages in shops and markets. Uh, does anyone see the problem with the logic of this sentence?

It is a socialist system. Anything the government does to alleviate problems will make the selfsame problems worse and create new problems.

In a weird way, I like what Venezuela is doing
We need a steady train-wreck of socialism to constantly put in the faces of our leftist American brothers and the voting public.
What the Chavistas in Venezuela are doing like a high school chemistry experiment which turns out the same every single time its tried.

Nationalization = “rationing.” It also guarantees the only place food is available is on the black market. How goes the old saying:
Socialism: You wait for bread.
Capitalism: Bread waits for you.

I would agree with you, IF the average leftist cared and IF the citizenry even paid attention to anything more than sports.
