KALAMAZOO (WWJ) If you thought you felt an earthquake on Saturday you did. And It was one of the strongest quakes ever experienced in Michigan.
Officials with the United States Geological Survey said an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 and a depth of focus of 5.9 km was measured around 12:23 p.m. about nine miles southeast of Kalamazoo, near Galesburg.
Multiple residents in several different regions beyond Kalamazoo from Mount Pleasant and Sterling Heights to Lansing and even as far as Cleveland, Ohio reported feeling a rumble and the ground shake for between five and 10 seconds.
No damage or injuries have been reported.
The strongest earthquake in Michigan history was a 4.6 magnitude in nearly the exact same location in August 1947.
LOL, quit fracking or you’re next!
Not a thing felt here in Livonia.
It's everywhere.
As usual, us Up North felt nothing. Gotta love living north of “downstate”!
Sorry, no trumpets were involved, it’s not the end of the world.
Let’s hope no Wolverines or Red Cardinals were harmed.
The center was under Galesburg, just east of Kalamazoo, prolly 2 hour drive.
Figures! Have lived in west Michigan since 1972. We get an earthquake and I missed it. We were in the car coming back from Menards, probably why we didn’t notice it. Have already talked to many who felt it. Bummer! Although it never made it to my bucket list.
Three...two...one...Caused by fracking and glow-bull warming.
Did not feel anything up here in God’s Country (UP of MI). But probably was just the trolls (those whom live in Michigan south of he Mackinac Bridge) getting restless and wanting to travel on up here to God’s Country.
Global warming brought on by fracking no doubt.
Anti-frack lefties in 3...2...1...
Isn’t that section still rebounding from the geologically recent removal of the weight of the great ice sheets that covered it?
That’s nothing. We, commifornica, have those on a regular basis. Matter of fact we just had one a few miles from my house and yes I was awake and felt this one. lol

I did, 20 miles south of the epicenter. I have pic of the damage, but I don’t know how to load a pic here.
Too darn far! 2 hour drive.
Not yet, but it is coming. Don’t take the Mark.
We in Romeo will never forget...
Family working in Toledo felt it. Thought it was semi, shook the building. Many of family were driving ...mowers, cars, tractors, so we did not feel it.
