He is from one of the most beautiful states in the country. And the people I met there were very nice. In fact, they spoke conservatively. I don’t understand why they keep electing a socialist.

H1Bs are non union professions. Unions have almost zero power in the private sector now.

Companies hire H1B’s because they have total control over them. It’s not even about immediate labor costs. If the employee doesn’t follow orders they are on the next airplane home and they know it.

Vermonters gave Obama 67% of the vote, both times. Vermont is also one of the whitest states in the nation, 1% black.

That’s how I see it too.

And I will say, it’s not a person’s fault from India, that they can afford to work for a lot less because their standard of living is so much less in India.

It’s solely the people who bring there here who are destroying our work force.

Thanks another interesting take on the situation. It’s probably a valid point.

H-1B ping. Let me know if you're not on the list and want to be added (or are and want to be removed).

I'd rather have H-1B's who work, innovate,

They don't innovate - they're drones.

pay taxes, form families, not on welfare, eventually get citizenship and possibly vote Republican than uncontrolled influx of ... well, the other kind.

I'd rather have skin cancer than brain cancer, but I'd like best of all to have neither.

You and me go back a long ways. Cruz's support for increased H-1B visas to me, as an older IT worker, is a huge black mark. I have have a lot of solid co-workers laid off over the last six months, and it sucks. The main thing I have going for me is I can demonstrate how incompetent the replacements have been.

I would still support Cruz as the nominee. But Walker has seized my personal high ground with his stance on this issue.

I’ve read articles where Senator Cruz wanted to up the H1-B visa count in 2013. Does he still hold that view in 2015?

There’s also the ability to demand 60 to 80 hour weeks, holidays, etc.

Dirtboy, take this for what it is. It’s simply my observation.

I couldn’t agree more about Cruz on the H-1B nonsense. It actually angers me that he’s that out of touch. We have tens of millions of people out of work, and his solution is to undercut them continually with workers who will accept half what it takes to make a living for U. S. Citizens.

Good freakin’ grief! I’m with you solidly on this, and I’m glad you have been able to stay one jump ahead. You shouldn’t have the pressure on you. This is not reasoned competition. We are doing everything possible to destroy the middle class.

At the same time, don’t be fooled by Walker. He talks out of both sides of his mouth.

He says his immigrations stance has changed. It hasn’t. In this March 1st, 2015 interview he claims he doesn’t support Amnesty. Then when pressed by Wallace he states that a way can be found to let illegals here stay and get citizenship if they pay a fine.

Another-words, his 2006 support for McCain/Kennedy hasn’t changed. In 2013 he still agreed, video is supplied in this interview, and at 10:28 on this video, he again says they can pay a fine and stay.

http://uneditedpolitics.com/wisconsin-governor-scott-walker-full-interview-on-fox-news-sunday-3115/

What Walker doesn’t address when he says he’ll address legal immigration too, is that it would take 25 years of zero legal immigration to the U. S., to make up for the 30 million he’ll allow to pay a fine and stay now.

Yeah, sure. He really cares about the U. S. worker.

Just give him 25 years, and he’ll have it all fixed. LOL

This ranks right up there with “read my lips, no new taxes”, and “you can keep your current insurance.”

Walker lost me right there.

This interview is worth the listen to the whole thing. It’s very educational to hear him say he has changed his mind, and it’s his right to, and then listen as he proves he hasn’t changed his mind.

I’m so sock of politicians like this.

And frankly, Cruz is cruising for a bruising if his take is actually what we think it is on H-1Bs.

Both these guys are treading on thin ice for me.
