“Stand by Me” was recorded in 1960, wtitten by Ben E. King, Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller.

I don’t think King published anything at age 13.

Correct - Stephen Kings “The Body” was a short story in the mid 80s that the movie late 80s was based on. The music selection and title was determined by the late ‘50s setting from the short story.

So 2 Kings seperated by years each put out a great product in their genre that combined into a great movie.

I saw Ben E. King perform in Washington, DC in 1979 and Leiber & Stoller in Los Angeles some years later when they appeared on stage at the conclusion of Smokey Joe's Cafe, a musical revue featuring their songs.
