The sheriff's office says it expects the six police officers charged in Freddie Gray's death to turn themselves in at the Baltimore jail hours after charges were announced.
Maj. Samuel Cogen with the Baltimore City Sheriff's Office said Friday that his agency was processing arrest warrants for the six police officers. The city's chief prosecutor announced the charges earlier Friday.

I don’t know if they should have been charged or not, but this is setting a TERRIBLE precedence where the rioting of thugs results in the legal consequence they were seeking.
The only people after this who remain on the job will be dog shooters and old people slammers.
WHY be a cop if you cant arrest drug dealers..?
Why not? The guillotine is all set, before the verdict is in as well.
I suppose we shouldn't expect those of the ignorant third world mindset to understand that determining guilt or innocence are what trials are for, not punishing those you hate.
Hmmm. Will there possibly be a stack of resignations on someones desk? All the evidence isn’t even in yet. Was there a GoPro in the back of the paddy wagon?
I wonder if the “accused” will survive jail ?
50/50 methinks
Freddie Gray was arrested for carrying a knife that turns out was legal to carry. Now he is dead.
You cannot arrest someone for something they were previously arrested for - something about double jeopardy.
These charges did not originate from grand jury indictments.
These charges originated from the State Attorney who claims to have probable cause to make the charges.
This is basically what Angela Corey did in the George Zimmerman/ Trayvon Martin case.
Can you show us the arrest report? Can you show us the cops' statement as to why they pursued Gray?
Since Gray was on probation for other crimes, we also need to know what restrictions he may have been under as part of that probation. Was he also on bail for pending charges?
Is it possible that associating with other drug dealers is cause for arrest if it violates one's terms of probation?
So far we know next to nothing about the reasons for his arrest... this will eventually come out in trials, but by then the whole world has already made up it's mind... just like in the Trayvon Marton and Brown cases.
>> You cannot arrest someone for something they were previously arrested for - something about double jeopardy.
Sorry, but that’s not what double jeopardy means.
Not even close.
“WHY be a cop if you cant arrest drug dealers..?”
Maybe because there was no warrant for his arrest? He had already served the time on his other arrest charges. He was not an escapee. He was arrested on sight of him, reportedly, with no warrant or cause.
You can own it but you can’t carry it on your person.
You can own it but you can’t carry it on your person.
Perhaps the police union will order a work slow down? No arrests, etc.
So if you are arrested, you should not expect a trial?
And you do need probable cause for an arrest.
Some Baltimore police officers face repeated misconduct lawsuits
City has paid more than $600,000 in lawsuits for one officer
John Bonkowski recently settled a lawsuit for $75,000 with the city after being beaten by police officer.
While hospitalized with a fractured ankle and broken jaw, John Bonkowski reached for his smartphone to find details about the man who beat him outside a parking garage near the Inner Harbor.
He typed “Officer Michael McSpadden” into Google.
The results stunned Bonkowski. He found references showing that the longtime Baltimore officer had been accused in three separate civil lawsuits: of kicking and stomping a woman, of breaking a man’s wrist and of beating a man unconscious with a police baton. Settlements in those lawsuits had cost city taxpayers more than $485,000.
You would think that the prosecutors would have read all the speculation and rumors on the internet by street corner forensic experts and hobbyist orthopedic surgeons before filing charges.
