Labor leader hopes Sacramento council, not voters, will set minimum wage

A Sacramento labor leader said Thursday he hopes the fate of a proposed $15 hourly minimum wage doesn't come down to a ballot-box battle.

Fabrizio Sasso, executive director of the labor council, acknowledged that the ballot measure is a possibility. But he said the group is focusing for now on convincing the Sacramento City Council to adopt the minimum-wage proposal. An overwhelming majority of Sacramento residents favor the idea, he said.

The labor group has set clear terms for the kind of council action it wants, however. Its leaders say a minimum-wage measure must:

* Set a local minimum wage at $15 an hour, though it could be phased in over time

* Include an automatic inflation adjusment

* Apply to all workers, including youth and tipped employees

Yep, the unions want the gov to force their will upon society as opposed to allowing the people to decide.

Of course labor wants a higher minimum wage. Union wages are Indexed against minimum wage. When minimum wage rises, so does union wage. In this case, a big increase.

Demanding $15/hr minimum wage is how the liberals think the best way to make people upwardly mobile.

Reality: when you go and buy a Burger King meal which was around $6.99 for the medium-sized ‘thrills’, and Candy the clerk adds it up under the $15 an hour deal, and says the new ‘thrills’ package is $11.99...how often you continue eating at BK? You reduce your consumption...maybe by half. Go suggest to someone that a $16 pizza is now going to $24.

And how many more jobs and companies will opt to move away from the USA?? Wages, taxes -— all driving away our economy. Vote accordingly in the primaries and in 2016!!!

Good news-Bad news

Your wage has been raised to $15.00 an hour.

Unfortunately for you, you're no longer needed here.

Allowing government to set wages will result in more destruction to the Sate of California. This State is mostly finished now as a place worth living in since the communists Democrats have destroyed most of it.
