Nearly half of the 17 insurance marketplaces set up by the states and the District under President Obamas health law are struggling financially, presenting state officials with an unexpected and serious challenge five years after the passage of the landmark Affordable Care Act.
Many of the online exchanges are wrestling with surging costs, especially for balky technology and expensive customer-call centers and tepid enrollment numbers. To ease the fiscal distress, officials are considering raising fees on insurers, sharing costs with other states and pressing state lawmakers for cash infusions. Some are weighing turning over part or all of their troubled marketplaces to the federal exchange, HealthCare.gov, which is now working smoothly.

Correct! They knew there was no way they would get single payer passed, and that there had to be a transitional program. That program is obolacare, and all is working according to plan. Once you accept the fact that obola is the enemy, every single action he takes makes perfect sense. RIP, America.

Here in California 70% are free on the dole and the other 39% like me pay 8.5k a year for lousy insurance with a 6.5k deductible.
A ship load of Federal money in the pot. Once Federal subsidies go away the house of cards collapse.
Lots of fraud already as well.
They need not worry - we have a Government that can issue all the debt it wants, a Federal Reserve that will print money to buy up bonds, suppress interest rates, or have inflation steal from the middle class as a tax to support every Progressive political and economic scheme that exists. And we have a Congress that won’t do anything about it.
They could give people choice over what coverages to buy. But that obvious solution will come only when President Cruz takes the oath in 2017.
The Transformation is going as planned...
