H-1B Visa Ping List
Lessee, Disney has “gay days” and now is loading up with “future democrats”.
Yup, libs have taken over.
Walt is turning in his grave.
Oh well, all good things come to an end.
Looks like Ted Cruz could probably raise some money from disney.
With all due respect, I guess I have a different perspective than “All things must come to an end.” Disney is not coming to an end..it is US jobs...
I see the questionable use of H-1B Visa workers displacing US workers as a further eroding of the middle class. This will cause more unemployment and lower wages.
I truly feel bad for the US IT workers who are losing their jobs...from what I understand about companies using H-1B Visas, they are not supposed to be replacing US workers.
Disneyland - a land based cruise ship with all foreign worker bees.
Looks like Ted Cruz could probably raise some money from disney.
Sadly, yes, he needs to revisit his position on H-1B Visas :(
End all HB-1 visas, along with all work permits to the US.
“H- 1B workers complement - instead of displace - U.S. Workers.” It explains that as employers use foreign workers to fill “more technical and low-level jobs, firms are able to expand” and allow U.S. workers “to assume managerial and leadership positions.”
This is total BS. They bring in Indian and Chinese IT workers because they will work for less and put up with sweat shop conditions.
Disney does not have “gay days”....the gays descend on Florida and go from park to park...
End all HB-1 visas, along with all work permits to the US.
Yes he does, it is a losing position with the majority of the American people.
Why are there so many foreign workers coming into our country?
It’s not just the H1B people.
We know that farm work has been dominated for decades by illegals.
Anecdotal evidence is that big parts of construction work are done by foreign workers, at least in some big cities I travel to regularly.
Airport concessions in many airports are run by foreign workers.
Joe Biden said that you can’t go in a 7-11 or Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight INDIAN accent. It was a crazy comment by Joe, but there’s some truth to it. You go in gas stations, fast food places, donut places, and the people working there and running these places were not born in this country.
When the labor force participation rate is at record lows, when we have so many employable Americans who are not working who could theoretically do these jobs, why do we have so many foreign workers in the first place???
And, are politicians of both parties ok with this? It sure seems that the long term trends have been that foreigners are imported to work in various parts of our economy.
If we need foreign workers to prosper, it’s one thing. But if foreign born workers are displacing Americans who are able and willing to work, that’s a problem, in my opinion.
I haven’t been there in a while, but used to be, Disneyland hired wholesome-looking, all-American kids from the local Orange County area.
Walt is spinning in his grave.
If I am not mistaken, the one piece of information left out of this sob-story is that the Engineers at Disney are unionized.
This Department of Labor PowerPoint presentation The Employment of Non-Immigrants on H-1B Visas clearly says otherwise.
H-1B visas are not to be used to displace American workers.
The language is clear that a company has to make a good-faith effort to find similarly qualified American workers. In Disney's case, the qualified American workers were already on the job.

Talk is cheap.

These are IT people—not sure they are unionized engineers. Perhaps you could find link on that?
Regardless, I don’t care if they are unionized—let Disney hire non-union US CITIZEN workers...Not cheap labor foreigners when we have so many unemployed IT workers.
I noticed this on a Mackinac Island, Mich. vacation three years ago. The majority of the employees in low level positions, guides, cleaners, waiters, baggage handlers, housekeeping, etc., at the Grand Hotel were black. This was to approximate the American blacks who were hired there in ye olden days. Courteous and polite, beautifully dressed, white shirts, black pants and jackets, all with heavily accented English. A guy told me that American blacks wouldn’t take these jobs because of low pay and the servitude attitude required so they were contracted and hired en masse from islands overseas and their black supervisor/handler came with them.
But one agency, the U.S. Department of Labor, wrote back last week and told the lawmakers that large H-1B using firms “are not prohibited from displacing U.S. workers” as long as they meet certain conditions, such as paying each H-1B worker at least $60,000 a year.
