I don’t understand...the entire thing (ethanol and biodiesel) is corrupt and a sham. Of course, it’s a GOVERNMENT-SANCTIONED sham...
I was speaking with a farmer in Indiana about ethanol. To the area I was in, the ethanol economy was like manna from heaven. However, it was high-stakes for them...they have to spend increasing amounts of money (high-tech seeds, expensive fertilizer (guess from what feedstock fertilizer is made, by the way) to get the yields up...but just like it has always been, they are dependent on the weather. One bust year REALLY hurts these days.

Hahahahaha! Trading energy independence for government dependence.
The program is set up to be defrauded, just like almost every other “Green” scam.
They were buying bulk discounted bio-fuel by the tanker load in New Jersey, then shipping it to Indiana to be resold. The ENTIRE thing was based on scamming government money.
What the article doesn’t talk about is who SOLD the fuel to them in New Jersey (mob), and why it is only NOW, after almost a million gallons, that the scam is uncovered(mob).
We shouldn’t burn our food.
