Some states running their own ObamaCare exchanges may be illegally using federal dollars to keep them afloat, according to a new warning from a government auditor.
The inspector general for HHS said officials must better inform states about the purpose of the grants to prevent them from improperly using the money to prop up their health insurance exchanges.
ObamaCare required that all state-based marketplaces be self-sustaining by January 2015.
For example, the audit said Washington states health exchange might use $10 million in establishment grant funds to support operations in the second half of 2015, citing budget documents.
The Washington exchange faces a funding shortfall of $125 million.
The watchdog also highlighted Rhode Island's exchange, which "currently does not have a dedicated revenue stream."

What if the states just took the law to mean what they wanted it to mean? Like Obama.
Apparently, the words in the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010” may be interpreted just about any way the reader or administrator of the program wants. Almost every word of the title itself is just about a complete abnegation of actual fact. Who can quibble about a diversion of the funds made available after being exposed to the implementation of the law so far?
Never start vast projects with half-vast ideas.
The purpose of Obamacare was to redistribute wealth from poor man to rich man. So I dont see where the problem is. /sarc
The 17th Amendment which gave us unconstitutional Obamacare needs to disappear.
The HHS is probably INSTRUCTING states on how to use the money illegally, so as to keep their precious baby 0bamacare afloat.
The “ no way in this or any other universe affordable heath care act “.
You mean like we used our cigarette money to pave roads.
No! That would never happen.

WARNING:
Some may find this slightly offensive.
The only reason states signed up is to get their hands on the FREE MONEY the gub’mint was bribing them with, and now they’re gonna care about an audit? They all knew the system would be broke when the subsidies ran out, they just didn’t care.
