ormer Maryland Governor Martin OMalley is readying himself for a White House run. His recent rhetoric on economics shows that he will run to the left of Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton. After two terms of an unpopular left-wing president, that is surely the last thing the country needs.
The good news is that OMalley has a record we can examine, so voters will have more to go on than promises of hope and change. For fiscal policy, Cato grades the governors from A to F every two years in its report cards. One thing stands out about OMalleys record: his Obama-like zeal for raising taxes.
In 2008 Cato awarded OMalley an F after he signed into law a huge tax increase. In 2010 OMalley recovered with B, as he trimmed spending during the recession and took a breather from tax increases. But in the 2012 and 2014 reports, the governor plunged to D, as spending growth resumed and he pushed more tax hikes.
Lets take a closer look at spending. Over OMalleys tenure (fiscal years 2007 to 2015), Maryland general fund spending rose 13 percent, based on data from the National Association of State Budget Officers (NASBO). Across the nation, state general fund spending rose 15 percent over the period, so OMalley performed a bit better than average.

Like that matters to anyone.
My question about O’Malley is ....
Are all his shirts sleeveless? My guess is that even his shirts under his suits are sleeveless.
The guy is a big-time poser. I guess that’s what he believes it takes to be president.
Well ,looks like Obama is going to have to run again ,LOL
No matter what, we can be sure that MD will again go Democrat in 2016.
no chance the riots will wise them up
There are not enough in MD who could figure out that the riots result from bad public policy.
The search for Hillary’s definition, will be idiotic.
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
This is the United States. This is the toilet. This is the swirl of the flushing. Going down. This is what it feels like.
OMalley had a scheme to tax the rain.
