Md.governor declares state of emergency as Baltimore protests turn violent;several officers injured

LIVE UPDATES:

7:02 p.m.

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan has signed an Executive Order declaring a state of emergency and has activated the National Guard.

6:54 p.m.

Baltimore police say one of the fire department's hoses has been cut by rioters as firefighters are attempting to put out the fire at the CVS store.

6:35 p.m.

President Barack Obama has spoken with Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake about the ongoing rioting situation in Baltimore. President will "provide assistance as needed."

6:32 p.m.

Firefighters are responding to a CVS store on Pennsylvania Avenue and North Avenue after smoke is seen coming from inside the store. It is the same store looting was seen earlier in the day.

6:24 p.m.

Attorney: Freddie Gray's family "in shock" watching the violence in Baltimore and are urging calm.

6:20 p.m.

After consulting with police, the Baltimore Orioles have postponed their game against the Chicago White Sox scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Monday.

6:16 p.m.

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan has put the Maryland National Guard "on alert so they can be in position to deploy rapidly as needed."

5:40 p.m.

Group of people are seen looting a check-cashing store on Pennsylvania Avenue and Fulton Avenue.

5:15 p.m.

FOX 5's Rick Boone reports City Hall has been placed on lockdown.

5 p.m.

SkyFox is seeing looting occurring at a CVS store.

Tourists might still stop off for a few hours at Fort McHenry, but otherwise forget Baltimore.
