We went to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants Thursday night around 7pm. It’s a popular place and should’ve been hopping. It was dead. Hope it doesn’t go away.

While the one above is kind of “Americanized” ...big, clean, well lit, jazzed up menu/dishes...our other favorite is an older, worn little place over in the “Little Mexico” section of town where nobody speaks English...not even the customers. But, great food...and cheap.

GW Carver has joined Booker T. Washington as "deprecated". While he was promoted when African-Americans were still negroes, he worked with the system and didn't challenge it. While it is still impolite to "disrespect" him openly, he is not to be included in any Black History Months anymore.

BTW, my husband looked it up and found that Stevenson College at UC Santa Cruz is named after Adlai Stevenson, who was from Los Angeles, originally.

Also, tolerance is the school’s whole philosophy, since 1988. Those who aren’t-— “will be CHALLENGED”.
