Chula Vista is a rough neighborhood. Glad I don’t live near there anymore.
I grew up in Chula Vista. My mom finally sold the family home at Nolan Way & L St in October 2005. It was a nice place when we moved into the house in August 1963. By 2001, the neighborhood was mostly hispanic and drug deals were happening at the foot of the driveway on a regular basis. Plenty of gunshots too. I worked very hard on the landscaping after my dad had a pool installed, a brick retaining wall added to the back yard and around the front. It was a great house. The neighborhood turned very bad, so there were few regrets when the house was sold.
