I think there’s a real effort by both sides to get Cruz to drop out.

I guess the guy doesn’t lie enough.

Well, the Times faults him for referencing the female anatomy in debate-— but he also spoke about men:

” Cruz became so comfortable before the Justices that he even employed a touch of humor, which is always risky at the Supreme Court. In 2008, the Justices invited Cruz to argue in support of Louisiana’s position that the Constitution permitted the execution of an individual who raped a child. (To be asked to argue a case as a friend of the court is itself a significant honor for a lawyer.) At one point, Justice Stevens asked whether any country had ever made punishments for rape more draconian. “It’s interesting if you look at the history in England,” Cruz said. “Blackstone actually talks about how rape under Saxon law was punishable by death, and then there was a period—1285—where the punishment was ‘relaxed’ to loss of the eyes and testicles. That was William the Conqueror’s kinder, gentler version.” Laughter followed.”

Memo to New York Times--people can fact check you almost as fast as you get the article posted even on your web site. You folks DO remember the Jayson Blair scandal at your paper from 12 years ago and the Rathergate debacle from 11 years ago, right?

They’re trying to find their mythical lines against Cruz that will stick, like Palin’s view of Russia from her house or J. Edgar Hoover’s dress wearing, so that it becomes fact to the low information voters. He needs to stay out front of this crap.

“I am very worried that administration concern for external crime is replacing concern for internal crime,” said committee member Ted Cruz.

He's absolutely right. The town of Princeton isn't exactly a ghetto where street crime is a big problem.

If anyone bothered to read the NYT’s article instead of relying on hearsay, they would know that it never said that Cruz was anti-woman or anti-anything for that matter. It was only about Cruz’s college debating days. The so-called controversial quote was an example of a failed attempt at humor, humor being a debating tactic. It was framed no different than if someone wrote about myself and stated I let up a walk off homerun against Villanova in 1982. Please, lets stop overdoing the knee jerking, its embarrassing.
