LCR pushing the lie, large part of the electoratefor the benefit of less than 2 percent of the US population.
How about a headline like God a difficult issue for Democratic White House hopefuls?

What difficulty. Blunt answer is it is perverted. That can be state more politely but the answer should still be No. No recognition, no support, and no attendance. Civil unions are legit alternative and better choice than destroying the institution of marriage.

what's difficult about denouncing a sick, ridiculous union. Ten years from now, “republicans struggle with man/boy marriage issue”

there’s nothing difficult about it- you either stand on your principles, and let the chips fall where they may, or you violate your principles, and betray the trust of those who elected you
Nothing complicated about that
Was it ‘difficult’ for shadrach meshach and Abednego to make the decision to stand on principles and obey God? Nope! For Daniel? Nope!

Oh, the libertarian POV. They don’t believe in divine punishment for allowing such practices.

The media will do their best to try to get republicans squirm on gay marriage. the candidates should look reporters in the eye and say:
"My position on gay marriage is the same as Barack Obama's in 2008, and you folks seemed to think he was the greatest thing since sliced bread. So hold me to the same standard that you held him, ok?
You say he has "evolved"? No, he's changed (assuming he wasn't lying in the first place), and saying that "change" is "evolution" is just your bias, your spin, not anything factual.
I do not derive my basic moral values from you or the New York Times, but from the Judeo-Christian tradition on marriage that was acceptable to every Democratic president until the second term of Barack Obama and which is still held by many millions of Americans. Next question?"

Well, at least you didn’t use Daniel’s Babylonian name (Belteshazzar). I try to use the Hebrew names of those three, which are Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah respectively; but I do have to say that your example of Babylon and standing against idol worship even to possible death is quite apt and excellent.

Note that Ted Cruz--a masterful debater according to the professors at Harvard Law School--has very effectively sidestepped the entire issue already.

Time to call them on it -
“gay marriage” isn’t the issue. It’s just being used as the vanguard in the left’s war on Christians.

It’s not difficult for you and me, but, the main purpose of the article was to demonstrate that it IS difficult for GOP politicians. They have to renounce it in the Primary season to win the votes of Social Conservative to win the nomination only to lose in the General OR..... They can renounce it in the Primary Season and never make it to the General Election. It’s a “rock and a hard place” thing.

Why should this be a difficult issue for anyone with morals? It is wrong. Period. It has no place in a nation of laws. It abandons our moral underpinnings and creates a fluid ethos that allows the justification of any behavior without consequence.
Mostly, it devalues the worth of human beings by rendering us just another mammal eternally in rut.
So why is it so difficult to Just Say No?

I have a homosexual cousin who a few years ago bragged that it’s been a read-between-the-lines thing for Democrat politicians over the past few decades.
Homos could vote for the Democrat (Slick Willie & Obama), the Democrat would win, and then instead of pushing big issues in the legislature, they’d plant homo-friendly judges throughout the judicial branch while gently nudging the political climate leftward.
They’ve played a long game on these issues. The GOP needs to get its act together, and GOP primary voters need to start being more discriminating. No more mealy-mouthed pansies as nominees.
To: Olog-hai
Whatever they do the Gay agenda will continue to advance.
