Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell set up a Thursday cloture vote on Loretta Lynchs nomination to be attorney general after breaking a logjam over amendments to the human trafficking bill.
The Kentucky Republicans filing of cloture on Tuesday ends Lynchs months-long limbo, with the votes for her confirmation seemingly assured but her position held up as a bargaining chip as the parties wrangled over abortion provisions in the trafficking bill.

The dumb (rhymes with ditch) went on record as saying she would not enforce immigration laws and said she would prefer that illegals were working.
At least we can be rid of Holder. /sarc, maybe
51, thanks to Dingy Harry nuking the filibuster for appointments.
Yes.
And remember to vote Republican in 2016. They will stop Obama. /sarc
The GOP has leadership. It comes from the other party.
The symbol of the Republican Party. The white flag.
They’re obviously going to approve the fast-talking America-hating holder clone.
I am!
We have feckless leaders in the House & Senate. It’s embarrassing.
I dont just understand why he didn’t just refuse to bring her nomination up for a vote forever?
Reid had no problem doing that.
The old fixaroo was in months ago. L.L. is in like Flynn.
Whenever the RNC/Young Republicans call, I reply “Not one dime for those cowards in Congress!!” and I hang up.
All that exists are a few lonely Constitutionalists fighting against the sweeping Liberal tyranny tide and their moneygrubbing lackeys who will sell out their souls and country for a piece of the pie.
Eric Holder to the power of 2, more likely.
She should have been Borked long ago. The Uni party is going to confirm her. Look for a handful of the usual patriots to vote no. The rest of the RINO’s yes.
Last fall Reid changed the rules so that it only requires 51 votes to confirm, rather than the historic 60.
The GOP Senate never changed the rules back and they may not even have the votes to do that, its not even clear that the more conservative Senators realize the problem with this.
Now almost any Obama nominee that gets put up for a vote will pass, Grahamnesty and a few others will push them through.
This means that Obama and Dems can use the failure to hold vote as a club to endlessly humiliate the GOP with, as total dysfunctionality. And then get what they want without giving up much for it, as will happen with this.
Unfortunately, these five Republican Senators have said they intend to vote for Lynch’s nomination.
Susan Collins (R-ME) (202) 224-2523
Jeff Flake (R-AZ) (202) 224-4521
Lindsay Graham (R-SC) (202) 224-5972
Orrin Hatch (R-UT) (202) 224-5251
Mark Kirk (R-IL) (202) 224-2854
I forget, we need to vote GOP because ...... someone please remind me.
I understand where McConnell is coming from. Is Lynch gonna be worse than Holder? How is that even humanly possible?
shouldn’t he wait for Obama to sign the human trafficking bill ?
Lucy is waiting in the wings with the football....
Any Republican that votes to confirm should be targeted for defeat in their next election.
