It must be Wensleydale though.

I was not at all surprised by my results. I was alternately thinking of Paris, Sydney and Pittsburgh when taking this.

You Should Eat in Paris
You enjoy a good meal, but unlike what some may think, you don't like to make too much of a fuss over it.
You know that the best food is often the simplest - if the ingredients are top notch and the execution is perfect.

You love to live the good life, and when you travel you just like to enjoy yourself. Even wandering around can be a worthwhile experience.
You don't really ever consider yourself a tourist, and you try to live like a local in every place you end up visiting.

Would like to tour several of them, then to France to visit WW1 battle fields. One of my favorite historians is Barbara Tuchman who wrote “Guns of August” ... I love history.

Ahhh...how can we forget Paris! Lots of choices, but I think my best memory was of buying crepes sprinkled with powdered sugar from a street vendor near Sacre Coeur Cathedral one evening.

I am not much into Asian food, but I can see why LA would excel here. Lots of Asian groups represented there. I’d love to really have a good visit to LA. Have only driven to and from the airport with my son, and he never stops for any kind of sidetrip. LOL!

I am not a city guy but have been to all but Sydney.
The Burgh is like home to me.

In Europe there is history to trip over at every turn. In some US cities, too. Not so much where I live. :)

I’m generally a low carb dieter, but a Paris hotel delivered a basket of croissants one morning. My husband can’t live without honey. I was terribly embarrassed when hubby woke up and I had to confess to dipping whole croissants into his honey jar. Just awesome. Then there was something reminiscent of “When Harry Met Sally” when hubby literately dragged me away from the table because the cab was waiting. I’d have taken the plate with me if I could have. I have no idea what I was eating but it was something Middle Eastern. When it comes to cheese though, the best ones I’ve ever eaten were from New Zealand, as well as their butter. But you know, God never lets me fast and I think it’s because I’ve been on a diet since I was about 14- that’s over 40 years. That sure makes me appreciate splurging on good food once in a blue moon.

YUM!! Don’t know how I missed eating croissants! We were there on the cheap, though, being a lowly airman and wife [me], and stayed in a very forgettable bed/no breakfast. LOL!

We ate most of our meals at a French cafeteria close to that hotel, and walked a lot. Luckily we were close to the Champs- Elysées. We did take a side trip to Versailles.

Good memories!

Yep - I’ve read three books by her. One had to do with the funeral industry. Interesting.

It’s sad when some building is maybe ninety years old and they tear it down to build something they’ll tear down in another ninety. Boston is neat with its history.

Sounds like great memories. I loved visiting the little cafes when we lived in N.Z. more than eating in the fancy restaurants. I’d much rather have the local food experience than the Food Network tour. Expensive vacations and eating out are highly overrated, but then I’ve also lived in a number of 3rd/4th world countries. A bug in your dish is free protein. LOL.

Boston may be many things, but the people there do respect their history. I’d love to walk those streets...if I wouldn’t get mugged. LOL!

That’s my kind of traveling too. Even if I could afford to eat at four-star restaurants, I’d still prefer around the corner cafes with character! :)
