It was interesting because Paul Newman (a celebrity liberal) was so closely associated with the brand.

I didn't know the Paul Newman connection. Coors’ appeal to many of my beer-drinking friends at the time was that it was illicit and expensive. I thought it tasted watered-down, and didn't get caught up in the hype.

I remember him saying he graduated from Kenyon College Summa Cum Lager. Paul was a classic sixties liberal, but that’s a very different creature from the unbridled nutcases who carry the label now.

It was interesting because Paul Newman (a celebrity liberal) was so closely associated with the brand. In Newman's defense, he created a way to feed charities with his own brands of food items, the profits donated. Most liberals want to feed charities from your pocket by theft instead of by providing something of value.

Which is amusing, since Coors is one of the few non-union beers.
In California building trades members have been fined by their unions for drinking Coors on the job site.
