Country fans were outraged and on April 16, Currington announced he was pulling out of the concert.
According to the International Business Times (IBI), the gun control concert got the wrong kind of exposure when Breitbart News reported that concert beneficiary Sandy Hook Promise is a vehicle through which various relatives of Sandy Hook victims have joined to push gun control until it passes.
Currington announced his decision to pull out via Facebook:

Good for billy currington. But, if he wants to donate money to this circus, he should have done it quietly and not announced it. "Ive never been one to take on controversial issues Im a singer. I do feel strongly about honoring and supporting the Sandy Hook community and will be making a donation to a local organization." Conradictory? I've never been one to take on contorversial issue------------but, I'm making a donation----------". Wise up young man.

Smart boy.
Pushing gun grabbing for a country singer is economic suicide.

But the bigger story is that Tim McGraw is now releasing statements that say “I’m a gun owner but...” “think of the children”, etc. It is clear that he has not been fooled. He is totally on board for citizen disarmament.

Hmmm, an artist doesn’t want to participate in an event that supports a cause with which he disagrees. It is good that we can exercise free will in such cases.
Now if he were a photographer or specialty cake baker....

And email and call our local country radio stations about it.
Call in requests for anyone but Tim McGraw.
Mail the station your McGraw CDs.

I’d like to see Roy Rogers come back and take Tim McGraw to the woodshed over this issue. If my memory serves me properly, Roy was a staunch supporter of both the NRA and Second Amendment.

Well, no. He’s a gun owner and supporter kinda like mark-gabby kelly-giffords folks are gun owners and supporters of the 2nd amendment. In other words, okay for them. For us peons, not so much.
