No need to see the video...everyone's suspicions are confirmed that this was a wild Amish parent attack on a teacher who disciplined an out of control Amish student.

My 14 y.o. 8th grader is running an A- average in algebra. I have no issue with his algebra teacher ...?

To stave off the useless cavetchings of the next dozen or so posters look at it this way, two Obama voters determining the hierarchy of victimhood.

Hempstead spent $24,000 per student in 2011. Obviously this type of incident could be avoided if we just taxed the rich so we could spend more on the “children”.

For a couple of years, I was a Teacher’s assistant in an elementary school special education class. The parents were either super-involved in their kids education and helped us out in any way, or were always angry and complaining about us. I’m convinced that a couple of the angry, complaining parents would’ve attacked my boss the Teacher, except for the fact that I’m a VERY LARGE MAN and I intimidated them.

Same old speech, this won’t change unless there are real consequences: prison for the mother and juvie hall for the student until she is reformed or graduates to prison.

The American model of education

Does.

Not.

Work.

Heaven forbid we change it.

One of my early life lessons was watching one of my 5th grade classmates try to stab a teacher with a pencil. For some reason, she was considerably older and heavier than all the other 5th graders. Fortunately, there was another teacher there to intervene.

In 8th grade, I was 12. I love algebra..

I got to say I'm disappointed in my parents. They never beat up any of our teachers. /s

It does prove that anyone can get in that school with anything.

I wished my parents stood up for me like that. They always sided with the teachers (as they should have.)

37% graduation rate in that district.

Hate to say it but no society can remain prosperous and strong with those results. I feel for my children. In twenty years or so, this country is going to be a nasty place to be.

when I was in middle school my fear was my mother putting ME in a chokehold for disobeying the teacher!...well not really, but back then your parents backed the teacher 110%...especially since most of mine were nuns...
