Robert Frost famously said that a liberal is someone "too broadminded to take his own side in a quarrel." You might want to put a picture of Mary Anne Weaver next to that quote.
Weaver appeared on today's Morning Joe to discuss her New York Times Magazine cover article "Her Majesty's Jihadists." On the one hand, Weaver paints a striking portrait of the radicalization of young Muslims in the UK, reporting for example that there are more British jihadists than there are Muslims serving in the British military. But when asked what could be done about the problem, did Weaver point to the radical clerics preaching a poisonous strain of Islam? Nope. She pointed her finger at the West 1. criticizing insufficient "integration" of Muslims into British society; 2. criticizing a new security law in the UK clamping down on people joining jihadist groups; and 3. saying that Muslims feel they are "under attack" from "indiscriminate bombing led by the US," in Syria, Iraq and Yemen.

Whoa. Wait a minute. I thought integration was a bad word with Libs these days. It is forcing Western Imperialistic, Dead White Male culture on the downtrodden Third World minorities? Now we were supposed to be doing it?? I'm so confused . . . .

The liberals always have an excuse to blame but never have a logical answer to a problem it’s because they are the problem.
Actually I agree in this sense:
..Western Civilization has — quite deliberately — assumed the role of “weak horse”. Back when the motto was “we have the Maxim gun, and they have not,” non-Western societies tried hard to emulate us, which is why you see those photos of skirted women in record stores in Afghanistan from the 1960s. Now that it’s “cultural sensitivity” and “why do they hate us,” the extremist brand looks viable.
