If these persons were honest, the REAL minimum wage would be $0.00 per hour.
Only because it cannot be lower than that.
The basis for hiring ANYBODY is to INCREASE the productivity of the business in which the entrepreneur is engaged. If the owner or proprietor cannot do everything himself (or herself), it makes sense to hire another to take some of the duties and responsibilities for some aspects of the business.
Part of the OBLIGATION of the person hired to take over the assigned duties and responsibilities is to perform the job with some degree of competency. At the minimum, the person hired has to be providing enough in goods and services to JUSTIFY paying the wages offered, because wages alone are not the only cost of maintaining a position. There is the workplace setup, and non-wage compensation, that must also be considered in coming to a fair reckoning of actual wages.
If the owner/proprietor/entrepreneur is not turning a profit at the end of the annual reckoning, then there is no margin by which the wages to either a new hire may be paid, nor is there any room to offer the current employee additional compensation, and in fact, may result in the termination of services for existing staff.
Because they have no skills worth much above minimum wage, they what to raise the minimum wage instead of learning a marketable skill. The Rats in Congress are pushing it because of Obama’s failed economic policies have left people worse off than they were before he became president. Instead of promoting pro-business legislation that would hire people at better wages and better jobs, he wants burger flippers to make $15 an hour so they can live better and never have to improve themselves.
Shouldn’t they be protesting for higher taxes?
