An audit released today casts a deep shadow of doubt over Vermont's ability to create a fully functioning health exchange.
The report details the Green Mountain State's ongoing struggles with billing and website development for Vermont Health Connect. Vermont has spent millions creating and patching the system.
According to Auditor Doug Hoffer, long-term sustainability hinges on two upgrade releases scheduled for the end of May and fall respectively. The audit indicates both are at high risk of failure.
The governor has pledged to scrap the exchange and begin planning to transition to the federal exchange if either deadline is missed.
That's OK, it was only a make-work program with which to get the software developer vote, so it all worked out just fine.
It won’t work, but it won’t collapse either.
Progressive don’t give up so easily on their social-engineering schemes. There’s always taxes and rationing - and don’t forget the US Government has a thing called the Federal Reserve which allows it issue debt at suppressed, fake interest rates and can buy up US Government debt by simply printing money.
Every politician in Vermont is scratching their heads, in wonder, why this didn’t work? Because it would have taken every cent the state of Vermont can get to pay for it. The only difference between this plan and OBAMA CARE is that the state of Vermont can’t print more money, that the Federal government can. What is it that these politicians, both state and federal do not understand?
HAHAHAHA!!!!
Vermont is a leftist, Progressive, Socialist, cesspool. It would be great to see the entire state fail. Good riddance.
Thank you. We love you too.

They understand that controlling the lives of other people is more important than workable solutions that allow people to live their lives in freedom.

Gosh, and this was the governor who just a few months ago was still pushing for a 100% socialist, 100% state funded, single-payer medical plan that would cover 100% of the medical costs of 100% of Vermonters. And yet his administration can’t build a functioning obamacare website for one of the tiniest states in the nation.
Ya, just gotta love “Progressives”, hey? They just mean SO well. Fortunately for us, gender, sexual preference, clothing preference, racial and ethnic “equality” are FAR more important to these buffoons than puny things like “competence” and “knowledge”.

I love the PLACE. It is a beautiful state and I have family there.
I am talking about the POLITICS. My brother-in-law works for State of Vermont in Montpellier. He lives the liberal dysfunction on a daily basis.
Why can these states not just use the same software without pouring millions and millions into reinventing the wheel?
Totally agree. Back in the late 90s Vermont spent a fortune designing a web system to file state taxes. It sucked.
Fortunately, numerous private companies built the tax software we are now accustomed to using. The Vermont system quietly went away after a year or two, along with the millions it cost to build.

As originally intended.
Its almost like all those states were funneling money to supporters under the guise of incompetence (likely, the incompetence was real too)
Loving. This.
Stupid Vermonters.
I will not purchase products from Vermont...because of their socialist leanings...& I have communicated that fact to their retailers.
Vermont was deliberately targeted in the early 1970’s for a “progressive” socialist/Marxist takeover by people like Lee Webb, John Froines (Chicago 7), eventually Dave Dellinger, comrade Bernie Sanders and other “hippies”.
They successfully took over many small town councils and then worked their way up the political food chain. Just look at who the congresspeople have been, as well as governors, etc.
Our first “RED STATE” and still a stinko “pinko” one.
