I’ll bet Putin chortled like a Bond villain when he came up with that one.

Considering Russia will eventually be a nuclear target it’s surprising Putin is arming the friends of his enemies.

Putin may be a creep, but he’s a clever creep.

He knows that the Ayatoilets will hit Israel and the US first. This will cause massive and apocalyptic response at least from Israel, if not from the U.S. Even if the U.S. fleet is told to stand down by the mohammedan in the white hut, there may yet be some rogue COs who will take the matter into their own hands, if the devastation Stateside is bad enough.

This way Putin gets rid of the U.S, Israel, and the Ayatoilets in one stroke.

My guess is that he’s going to work on getting the Norks to provoke the Chicoms. The response will take out both North and South Korea, as well as reduce the capabilities of the Chinese.

He's a very evil man, but we have a clique of dilettantes who don't know history or value freedom who consider Putin a great Christian paladin.

I don't think you understand the significance of Russia selling these weapons to Iran.

Obama was able to convince to world to adhere to the sanctions that would be placed on Iran. If the whole world would co-operate, it would cause economic distress to Iran, forcing Iran to the negotiating table. It could not be done by only the US sanctioning Iran, the world had to honor the sanctions.

But there is lots of money to be made in Iran, either by selling goods to Iran or investing in Iran.

Russia is merely the first country to break rank on the sanctions, because they say that progress has been made.

What is China going to do? Now that Russia has broken rank, will China also break rank? India? Germany? Brazil?

If the rest of the world decides to do business with Iran then the sanctions are over. Sure, the GOP congress can re-impose sanctions on Iran and add additional sanctions. But if the US is the only nation sanctioning Iran, those sanctions will not be very effective

Indeed I do.

Not only will any future trade sanctions by the U.S. be moot, but nuclear devastation of the U.S. and Israel is almost assured.

Apparently Russia sees it differently from the way you see it. As I said, we will have to wait and see how the rest of the world sees it.

I, for one, do not support Putin in any way...but can’t help but marvel at the way he continues to outsmart our President. Putin plays mean game of chess while our dear leader daydreams of double-stacking his checkers pieces.

And, it scares me to death.

I think many of the “dilettantes” feel the same way, and use humor & cynicism to express frustration at the U.S.’s lack of presence, and Obama’s yellow streak, in the situation. I think these folks are just as much a believer in your tag line as anybody else at FR. (Against Obama. Against Putin. Pro-freedom. Pro-US Constitution.)
