Ten U.S. senators, representing the political spectrum, are seeking a federal investigation into displacement of IT workers by H-1B-using contractors.
They are asking the U.S. Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security and the Labor Department to investigate the use of the H-1B program "to replace large numbers of American workers" at Southern California Edison (SCE) and other employers.
(SNIP)
The other signers are Sens. Richard Durbin (D-Ill.), a longtime ally of Grassley on H-1B issues; Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), David Vitter (R-La.), Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), Bill Cassidy (R-La.), Bernard Sanders (I-Vt.), James Inhofe (R-Okla.). Neither California senator signed on.

Probably the only decent thing Cassidy has done so far.
Here we go again. Another useless, do-nothing Congressional investigation??? (yawn) We are in very huge trouble as a nation.
part of the acceptance of the H1b program was an agreement to train Americans, so we could reduce our reliance on foreigners
that training hasn’t really been pushed... tho the money for training did go somewhere
Multiple agenda strategy.
Flood the country with foreign workers.
wealth transfer out of the country.
Displace us workers out of the job market.
Increase male unemployment.
Increase stress on normal families.
Continue eroding and damaging us economy.
Erode middle class.
Erode power of masses by depriving them of money.
Increase govt dependency of affected population.
Oh..you mean that two Representatives of the Working Man, Babs "Bronx Cheer" Boxer, and Diane "Moneybags" Feinstein?
Those two gritty working class heroes?
“We have to protect our phoney baloney jobs here, gentlemen! We must do something about this immediately! Immediately! Immediately! Harrumph! Harrumph!”
And you could probably add in a multitude of other negative impacts on society.
That list of senators tells me they are “doing something” about making sure the program doesn’t go away. They are the firewall that will stonewall and let this h1b practice go on.
Here we go again, another “SENATE INVESTIGATION” that will cost gazilloion dollars, and in the end, nothing will come of it. How many “SENATE INVESTIGATIONS” have we had? All these people have to do is “STONE WALL” these “SPINELESS WHORES” and eventually, they’ll drop all charges, and everything will be as it was.
Yes.
The foxes are investigating the shit out of that henhouse.
Some corporate piker is getting fat off of those chickens, and the Senator Fox didn’t get his cut.
Trey Gowdy and most House Republicans are happy with massive numbers of H1B visas.
They won’t be able to get anything done in congress at the moment. They just have to work out ways to get more publicity to the issue.
You must not keep up with Senator Jeff Sessions.
Cornyn from Texas also didn’t sign on - doesn’t surprise me since he and the Chamber are joined at the hip.
Well, wonder if they will “find” anything. /s
“We are in very huge trouble as a nation.”
We’re still a nation?
I support immediate and permanent revocation of all H1-B visas and an end to the program. The proliferation of foreigners in US IT infrastructure has not only been economically disastrous but it is also a huge unacknowledged national security threat.
Senator Sessions is against these visas and has been for years.
These bozos took over at my place and i screamed at one over the phone because he knew nothing about the system he was responsible for. Prior to that, when we had a system problem one night, they sent a duplicate file thru my system. I paid $8M in duplicate payments that went out the door, because they failed to inform me of the original problem so i could not monitor what they did. I just finished cleaning up. it was almost a year ago. the major clean up took about one month.
