Democrats believe in spending like drunken Marxists. Republicans believe in spending like drunken sailors. Either way they're going to spend more than they have.
I used to be very upset by deficit spending/printing money.
I’ve come to realize, however, that it is just another form of taxation, by devaluing the money people earn and save.
It’s evenly mildly regressive, in that effects current money equally (essentially being a flat tax) and persons with substantial wealth have most of their wealth in things/equities that go “up” with inflation, so they are not as affected by the tax as those with no savings. (Now people who invested in non-indexed bonds are screwed, but that’s life.)
The burden even bleeds over to non-citizens like China who hold dollar-denominated debt.

I agree. But considering I am in the highest tax bracket in two countries, I am a fan of other people getting to share my burden.
