We do this ALL THE TIME - the SCA re-enactors will raid WalMart for food, or a sonny’s BBQ for dinner after an event - we call it “Freaking The Mundanes”, and it’s a load of laughs!

The sheriffs office should issue a citation to the "busybody" for bothering them and wasting their time.

I don’t know why the story made me think of this:
Ralph (telling Alice a joke he made up for a presentation at his Raccoon Lodge): So there was this knight, Sir Launcelit, and he was summoned by King Arthur to deliver an important message to the neighboring kingdom and told him to saddle up a horse and ride. Sir Launcelit says, ‘ But your highness, it’ s thundering & raining & lightning outside.’ But the king says its important and he must go. So Sir Launcelit goes to the stables, but finds no horses, just a great big Great Dane. He reports back to King Arthur with the Great Dane in tow and says, ‘ Sire, there are no horses, but if you want me to I will saddle up this Great Dane and ride out into the storm.’ Are you ready Alice; HERE IT COMES! “ Nevermind,’ says King Arthur, ‘ I wouldn’ t send a knight out on a dog like this.’
(Ralph bursts into hysterical laughter at his joke; Alice remains stone faced) Well don’ t you get it? I wouldn’ t send a knight out on a dog like this.’
Alice: I get it. I just don’ t think it’ s funny.
Ralph (points at Alice): You have NO SENSE OF HUMOR.
Alice: Oh yes I do. I MARRIED YOU, DIDN’ T I?
