Seems like they'd realize running from police isn't the safest course of action.
I have to disagree with you. This is an error that is not likely to happen, but CERTAIN to happen because police tasers are made to feel and work just like their sidearms. In the heat of the moment, grabbing the wrong weapon will happen(and when tasers are used, it is always in the heat of the moment.
the cop in the vid doesnt look to be 73. could be a mistake. also not clear that the cop made a mistake. i think the taser stuff is bs.
Who isn’t going to “resist” if several people are on top of you and dislocation your shoulders? They say you’re resisting even when the person is not fighting but in pain Because joints are being damaged.
Yes, another day and another cop murdering a citizen. Murder charge, conviction, and jail. Anything less is not justice.
Another day, another murdering cop whom needs to rot in prison.
Did anyone see this at the end of the article,
Sgt. Dave Walker told the Tulsa World that police would not investigate the death unless the sheriffs office asked them to, and they have not asked us to.
So in other words. It’s okay to accidentally kill someone
WTF is a 73 year old doing working as a cop?
This is interesting.
Much police distrust these days. Yet, if Ice T was saying half of the things I’ve read lately this site would be up in arms defending these cops who make mistakes.
The guy gets accidentally shot and they scream and curse at him like a dog. He did however whine like a wussy. Ok, I’ve never been shot but I’d like to think I would react better than that. The police spokesman’s comment that it was an “inadvertent mistake” makes me wonder which mistake they intended to make.
I have had it with these out of control bullies with a badge killing people.

And now the unintended consequences:
So if these people have no problem resisting arrest from the cops, how emboldened would they be if you or I were the one commanding them to comply?
I have always ASSUMED that if you run from a cop, when he is trying to arrest you, that he/she CAN shoot you. I never realized that is is OK to resist arrest and run. Now I find out you can run, hit the cop, struggle with the cop, injure the cop, and the cop gets blamed. Well for 64 years I thought you can’t resist arrest or run, and you could be shot dead. Sure kept me out of trouble all these years! never been arrested, assumed cops have guns for a reason.
and I HATE cops. We live in a small town where cops are rude, smartaleck, hateful, arrogant, mouthy. They are uneducated, illiterate. and they think their sh!t don’t stink, as my dad used to say about rude people...
Hands up don’t run. That was good advice, he would be alive today.
Other than immediately falling to the ground, spread eagled, I'm not sure what a safe course of action is.
Another resisting arrest issue or not?
This police officer and this department needs to made an example of.
You pull a trigger you had better be 100 percent correct or you should go into the pen and never come back. Period. Cop or crook or anyone else.
People with badges and the authority of the State behind them do NOT deserve the benefit of the doubt.
IF..that is what happened.
