After “ragging” on the mexicans, I want to say a few words in their defense, and to try to redirect our anger and energies to the deserving target.

I’ve known and know a lot of mexicans, both newcomers (including illegals) and those that are several generations americans. By far the large majority are wonderful, hard working people.

I don’t see them as THE problem, even the ones that come here illegally. What I see as the problem are those of us who want to leave the border open, let them break our laws and then reward them with monetary benefits and not impose any responsibility on them like learning our language and our values and our traditions, i.e assimilating, as all previous immigrants have done. These are the leftists, the multicults, the one worlders who currently rule us. In other words our biggest problem by far is the enemy within.

I truly believe that many illegals of today will become quite successful in a generation or two. Like previous immigrants, they had to have the initiative to leave their country and face the unknown of a new land, having to survive with the constant fear of deportation, making do with their wits, street smarts, and hard work - in other words, they are risk takers, resourceful, and smart enough to survive in a less than welcoming environment.

The only thing that will stand in their way of success is, again, the leftists, who by pandering to all their needs and wants (to get their votes) may be successful in spoiling their desire to get ahead and turning them into dependent vassals, like they’ve done to the blacks. My gut, though, tells me that the left won’t succeed in the long run to snuff out the immigrants desire for a much better life than that provided by a welfare check.

I think too many of us put the primary blame on the illegals, and by doing so we fail to focus on our real enemy. The illegals are simply one of the symptoms of us allowing the left, the enemy within, to take control of our country.

I came here as an immigrant. My family followed the rules. It would have been a constant shame for us to have broken the immigration laws of this great and just country we humbly asked to be part of. We have not allowed others in our extended family or ethnic community to sneak in and take advantage of American citizens, no matter how much we surmised they would have been a boon to the country.

It is a sin to Covet Thy Neighbors goods and the Mexicans who say they are practicing their Catholic faith, if they have come here illegally, are handing down their sins to their children and grandchildren. That is a terrible legacy.

That is how I feel. These laws allow us to live in an environment that is stable, predicable and whose laws are applicable equally. That is why my family left our natal place. We all have a choice between right and wrong.
