“I had bought three HP laptops over a series of a handful of years and everyone of them was crap for what I was paying”
Your experience is not unique. I never saw so many prematurely failed laptops with crazy failures come into my shop, like fried optical controller chips, fried WiFi chips etc.
The third party warranty giant, Square Trade, ranked HP laptops near the bottom for premature hardware failures based on their own statistics.
HP laptops are crap, and their desktops aren’t much better.
Next time you buy a laptop, get a Dell factory refurb E5000 series or E6000 series biz class latitude. If you want a GREAT laptop and are willing to chuck the bucks, get a Panasonic CF-53 Toughbook or similar model.
I now have a Asus, cheap and does the trick and never gave me a problem but those Dells are good like you said.
I have not bought anything HP including printers for years and never will. That Indian call center, their customer service and their products are all crap.
