Stay away, Rev. Al.
That was the message from the family of South Carolina police shooting victim Walter Scott to the civil rights activist Thursday two days before the funeral for the slain father of four.
“We don’t want another Ferguson type of circus here,” a source close to the Scott family told The Daily News.
That was a reference to the Missouri town that was rocked by violent demonstrations last year after black teen Michael Brown was killed by a white cop.

I thought I’d see the dashcam video at the link, but didn’t. Any idea where we can find it?
This case is much diffrerent than Trayvon Martin’s and Michael Brown’s cases. They attacked first and tried to kill the victims. In this situation a black man was running from the officer and was clearly no longer a threat when the officer fired his weapon 8 times at his back. You’re not going to much of anything from the white population because its clearly wrong even if the guy had his taser. The officer could have simply told the man to stop and toss the taser in the grass then have him kneel or lay down so he could cuff him.

I don't recall the specifics or even who the talking head was, but the opening salvo from Sheriff Clarke left me rolling in the floor.
He said he couldn't understand why Sharpton wasn't in jail for Tax Evasion, then went on to excoriate Sharpton, stopping short of calling him an ignorant buffoon, but it was there.
I love Sheriff Clarke!
God Bless this family for there loss of their loved one and their wish to not make a scene with the Rev. Al people. But Sharpton and his band of paid peeps are going to come and the family and town have nothing to say about it.
This town will be like Ferguson soon.
I saw the video earlier tonight and there is one question that really bugs me:
You’re pulled over for a busted tail light - hardly much of a crime. Why the heck do you get out of your car and start running?
Walter Scott had a warrant out for outstanding child support of $18,000+ plus other charges.

I had read that he owed child-support payments and did not want to go to jail. True? I do not know.

That’s a lot of money, but when you consider what happened, he would have been better off just facing the music. Sounds as if two people made some really stupid decisions that night.
