There seems to be a need for basic “what not to do around cops” lessons.
Lesson #1: Don’t try to run away from a cop.
Tragic, yes, but preventable.
Running from a cop does not justify murder.
Don’t get confused.
Tragic, yes, but preventable.
The Cop had no reason to shoot that man.
He appeared to be a man who was running for his life.
It’s too bad we’ll never know why he felt so threatened.
But I’m guessing - from the cop’s obvious aggression - there was a reason.
Of all people, Chris Rock put together such a course a few years ago:
Preventable?
Maybe not.
Think about it a moment, a cop who would shoot you in the back probably doesn’t need any excuse to shoot you from any distance for any reason.
I see a taser coming my way I will rabbit everytime. Those things are bad news. There is no way I would just stand there and accept the tase. My next door neighbor has one of those on the end of a flashlight. Just the sound of it gives me the heebie jeebies. :-)
