Yes, that is the pre-requisite PT, then there is a list of infantry tasks including a 12 mile ruck march in sub 3 hours with a fairly moderate kit load, all sorts of weapons tasks, first aid and such which must be certified by the owning unit. Then of course the first days at Benning include a nonstop make you die or quit physical assessment ( Darby Queen ring a bell?) A lot of attrition there, then about a 60% success rate for a non-recycle graduate (1st time go), about 50% of recycles make it subsequent classes- they jump in where they broke off for med or admin issues. Only one retest for a task failure, no option for integrity violations ( oh no, congress couldn’t attend!).
I broke a femur in the desert phase, in ‘85, had the option to return, never did- never healed quite right nor did I have the motivation to do that again!

My guess is that there will be ‘concessions’ during the mountain and Eglin AFB phase. What bothers me most is what precisely is this supposed to accomplish?
